I have just spent some time dating my first Record plane, a nice little 03,to mid 1950's. I could - and will - spend much more time here in future. Thankyou for an excellent resource.

What can I say about your web-site Daithi it's amazing. A very valuable resource. It must have taken many days and maybe years researching C & J Hampton and then sharing your knowledg with Record Tool FREAKS like myself for free that I cant Thank you enought.I must say the other Record Tool web-site has done a great job but it needs to be up-dated. I have about 100 Record Hand Planes and now I know how to date them. You must have a wounderful collection. Again Thank You so much and keep up the great work and Fair Play to you (Daithi) David

Thanks for all your help David, I visit about twice a day! I lost all my tools in a fire, and your site has helped make the Record minefield an easier journey. Record has always been a superior tool in my opinion, but with the "re-branding" after the Hamptons, things got a little sketchy, knowing what you have in your hand at an auction is a valuable thing! You did all the legwork for me, and for that I can't thank you enough.

Your site is full of very valuable information. I have been a power tool woodworker for years and am now entering into the quiet relm of hand tools. Having purchased a couple older planes I am now restoring them and wanted to learn more. Your site is terrific.
Thanks
